Full Moon Meditation & Gong Bath

Friday, 24 May 2013 07:00pm - 08:30pm
with
Sarah Purdie in Ealing

Full moon is a time when the energies are at their peak, it can be a time of high emotions, but also of great harvest, a time when we can “reap what we have sown” over previous months. The Gong helps to release tension and energy blocks within the physical body as well as balancing the Chakras. The Gong works on a cellular level to bring about deep healing and the re-balance of the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. We will be using deep meditation to bring us to a state of inner peace, balance, and to enable us to connect to our higher self, before surrendering to a 31 minute gong bath.

Investment: £8 (limited space, so please book in advance). Venue: Alexandria Healing Centre, 39 Alexandria Road, West Ealing W13 0NR. Contact Sarah Purdie, 07894 388174, sarah-purdie@hotmail.co.uk.

Balance Your Chakras, Tone Your Glands

Saturday, 25 May 2013 02:30pm - 05:30pm
with
Bir Akaal Kaur in Oxford

Seven of the chakras (energy centers) correspond to areas of the endocrine system, your glands. The glands are the guardians of our health. The physical health of these glands directly interacts with the energetic flow of the chakras. It is the balance of this physical and energetic dance that allows us to feel completely whole. Besides our daily yoga practice the Yogi Elixir is a great way to keep all systems, both physical and energetic, in balance. The 12 endocrine glands are the guardians of our health. Yogi Elixir is an important guardian of the glands. We need to spark and maintain them well every day to stay young healthy and happy.

Great British Kundalini Yoga Festival

Tuesday, 28 May 2013 - Sunday, 02 June 2013
with
Everybody in Reading

The theme for 2013 is the Arc Line: The Arc Line is the Sixth Spiritual body, the halo of the warrior saint, who serves at the feet of all. It gives you the ability to project your grace and dignity and deliver the divine potential of human conscious into the world.

The festival offers a truly unique transformative space.  A place where we gather together as a community to physically manifest our highest aspirations and then once inspired and rejuvenated return home to act as a bridge for the wider world to a new way of being. Created on the basis of sharing and unconditional giving the festival encourages you to participate in this spirit. Click here to see how you can get involved.

Venue: Leighton Park School, Shinfield Road, Reading RG2 7DE. Bookings. Contact info@kundaliniyogafestival.org.uk, www.kundaliniyogafestival.org.uk.

Would you like to Volunteer with the Great British Yoga Festival Team?

We are looking for help with setting up the site from Sunday 26th May before the festival and clearing away on the Sunday morning afterwards, keeping the grounds tidy during the festival, keeping the dining areas beautiful place to eat, music, sound & lighting, co-ordinating the healing area and/or bazaar, welcoming people at reception and making bookings for day tickets, fire marshals, housekeepers, working with the children's and anything else that comes up! If you would like to help please email your CV to info@kundaliniyogafestival.org.uk.

Invitation to Teach at the Great British Kundalini Yoga Festival

The invitation to teachers is to come and serve at the feet of the community. If you wish to teach please let us know by 15th April details of workshops that you would like to run. There are 1 1/2 hour and 2 1/2 hours slots available. The festival is very family oriented, and as well as workshops aimed at adults we would like to hear from teachers who can offer workshops that would be suitable for parents and children.

In order that the festival has clarity around Seva, we are drawing a clear distinction between Seva and work exchange. There are jobs at the festival eligible for discounts on the ticket price. However, teaching is a Seva role and you are invited to join the festival as teachers embodying and modelling this consciousness for the community.

The Theme of this Year’s Festival is the Arc Line, the Sixth Spiritual body. The Arc line gives you the ability to project your grace and dignity and deliver the divine human potential into the world.  It is the halo of the warrior saint, who is the servant of all. It is not necessary that workshops develop the theme, but it is given as a guideline if required.

Please e-mail Amrit Singh, amrit5@tiscali.co.uk. Proof of appropriate insurance and qualifications for the workshops you run is required.

Prosperity - Accessing the Resources to Fulfill your Destiny

Friday, 07 June 2013 - Sunday, 09 June 2013
with
Japjeet Kaur in Belgium

Prosperity is everywhere around us and within us. It is the ability to find, organise, and use the resources we need to fulfill our highest destiny, our true identity. Mostly, people will take one of three possible attitudes: scarcity, abundance, or prosperity. Scarcity is what we call the attitude of the Negative Mind (second chakra, kidneys, fears): "There is not enough." "How will it hurt me?" "What will I lose?" People who are ruled by scarcity thinking don't want to take any risks, they live with a constant fear of losing things or they are constantly afraid to be used.

Shuniya - Past Ego and Mind into Stillness

Friday, 21 June 2013 - Sunday, 23 June 2013
with
Japjeet Kaur in Leicestershire

Shuniya means 'zero', 'nothing', and describes a state of awareness in which the mind is brought to complete stillness, perfect harmony, neutrality, peaceful calm. It is a state of emptiness, where no positive or negative is assigned to things: there is no good or bad, there is no trying, no searching, no desire, no wanting. There is nothing. From the state of shuniya things can simply unfold, without you having to 'try' or 'do' anything. You just create the required empty space and then watch how things happen and unfold. Learning to develop this internal quiet offers numerous and profound benefits, such as awakening the body's innate self-healing potential and facilitating self-knowledge and self-transformation.

European Kundalini Yoga Festival

Saturday, 20 July 2013 - Sunday, 28 July 2013
with
3HO Europe in France

About 2000 people from Europe (and some from Africa, Asia, America, etc.) come together in a natural environment to practice 8 days of Kundalini Yoga and other activities related to the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, including 3 days of White Tantric Yoga. They enjoy a special diet, many inspiring workshops by international teachers, and lots of song, dance and fun. Each year the European Yoga Festival highlights a specific aspect of yoga, but it also provides special attention to newcomers who have little or no experience of yoga practice. The Yoga Festival is a lot of fun, but also presents a challenge. The optimum purifying and transforming effects will happen if you allow yourself to remain on the diet and stay in the energy of the site for the whole eight days.

Excel & Celebrate – The Radiance of Woman

Saturday, 03 August 2013 - Thursday, 08 August 2013
with
Japjeet Kaur in Leicestershire

A Sacred Circle of Women. The programme is intended to make women aware of their strength and potential as women. Yogi Bhajan shared with this planet the very sacred technology of Kundalini Yoga as well as the precious message that woman is the Grace of God. It is through her that the human race is embodied on Earth. She is the manifestation of the divine creativity on earth, and she forms the inspiration for the sensitivity of the human soul. This is not a small thing. However, we are not taught this in our homes, our schools or in our society. Yogi Bhajan took it on as his mission to teach respect and honour for women and to give them solid technologies so they can truly excel.

Awakening of the Self

Friday, 09 August 2013 - Friday, 16 August 2013
with
Karta Singh & others in France

The Journey of Life… For many it simply means to travel from one event to the next. Going from mood to mood, in a never ending string of changes. From pleasure to pain. From expectations to disenchantment and back again. An extraordinary week full of intensive and unique experiences. We are dreamers projecting our dreams on others and our surroundings. Following our impulses creates an urgency that constantly moves us towards things, desires and emotions. Only to find out that nothing ever satisfies us - even when we got what we aimed for. Because we’re simply serving our Projected Self. Our True Self, that what we really are, is deprived of contentment.

Kundalini Yoga Childrens Discovery Camp

Friday, 09 August 2013 - Friday, 16 August 2013
with
Amrit Nam Sarovar in France

The camp accommodates children and young teens between 7 and 14 years. We speak German, English and French. And it is a great oportunity for children to reach out to other cultures and create a connection beyond the limitations of language and habits.

Being in pure and unspoiled nature surrounded by mountain tops will be an unforgettable experience for the children of our time. In the midst of nature there is room for truly getting to know each other, for practicing yoga, playing team games, painting, singing, exploring the area, building or martial arts. Each day we will study one of the 5 elements: fire, water, air, earth, and ether. All team members have a longtime experience in working with children.

And the parents? You are invited to join the Eveil de Soi week which takes place at Le Martinet at a short distance from the children's camp (about 30 km). This is an immersive yoga week that many people describe as a turning point in their lives, deeply purifying, recharging and inspiring.

Investment: €260 per child, reduction available for siblings. Registration & contact: Dev Saroop Kaur (Annette Stumpf), +49 9360 1737 (landline), +49 170 5205299 (mobile), kids@amrit-nam-generation.org, www.amritnam.com.

Heart of the Female Warrior

Saturday, 17 August 2013 - Thursday, 22 August 2013
with
Har Nal Kaur, Satguru Kaur & Dev Atma Kaur in France

The True Warrior always has a sadness in her eyes. It is because of the softness and kindness in her heart. She cares for her self and the world out of a deep compassion and understanding. The archetype of the female warrior is ancient. She is not equal to the notion of the manly female, as it has been defined by feminism. And she is not equal to the adolescent fantasy of the sexy seductress we now see in movies and video games. She has her own identity, and we all carry something of her in us. But who is she? And can we give shape to her? How do we manifest the heart of the female warrior in our own lives?
